Engineering Survey and setting out. Certificate in Construction and the Built Environment

Alex D&D training provides Engineering setting out and surveying course as  a training course for beginners to advance learners. Those learners with already construction related qualification ( in survey, building and civil engineering) will undergo our 4 weeks intensive setting out classes only but will be given an option to do the  level 3 Diploma in Engineering surveying. If you choose not to do it we will issue you our own certificate of attendance. This does not affect you ability to get work or a Professional CSCS card. But for those learners who have no previous construction related qualification we strongly advice you do the level 3 diploma as this will be the only way you can get work and a professional CSCS card (Gold card). This may take a bit longer between 2 to 3 months but it worth it at end of the day. You will have to complete all relevant units of the qualification and it is graded pass or fail.

At the end of the programme you will get a level 3 diploma certificate in Engineering survey awarded by ProQual AB.

Option 1 (EXPERIENCE ROUTE) People with survey, building and civil Engineering qualifications but NO EXPERIENCE IN SETTING OUT.

Cost:  £1300 including VAT

            9 weekend sessions or 14 consecutive days

All our classes will commence on the first Monday of each month and runs throughout the week. We are flexible on delivering this course, so for those of you who are busy during the day, you can attend the evening classes plus the weekend classes. Due to the recent unprecedent pandemic, all our taught classes are now via long distance ( zoom classes). Please speak to us about your availability for the course during booking for special consideration and scheduling.

Who is this Option for?

This course is suitable for all those with construction background with a construction related qualification ( survey, building and Civil engineering). Therefore, if you a junior engineer, new graduates in Civil Engineering, survey, building Engineering, construction and Built Environment this course is for you. It is also suitable for foreigners new to the UK with construction qualification seeking to work in construction but without UK site experience. 

Option 2 ( New learner route)

COST: £2600 including VAT

Engineering Survey and setting out with a diploma certificate in the following options.

1. Level 3 diploma in Engineering Survey.

You will go through our course for 2 to 3 months depending on how quick you submit your assignments. This is a blended program as it is delivery both via long distance, classroom and field work for practical activity. If you are already working we will visit you in your site to carry out assessment but all assignment are done online via our learning assistance platform. At the end you get a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying. This course is suitable for those who are working as chainmen but no qualification, already working as engineer but no qualification to get the correct skill card (Gold card). You cannot use the wrong CSCS card to work as an engineer. The course is also suitable for those that want to change careers. Lastly, if you are not proficient in the use of total station, GPS and robotics, this is an opportunity to acquire that skill to take you to the next level.

            This course will enable you apply for your GOLD CSCS card or an academically qualified person card. Note You will have to do the MAP Health , Safety and Welfare CSCS touch screen test before the card will be issued by CITB.

This is the best course to attend for those who are completely new and those changing career to construction engineering.

This course will enhance your knowledge and competency  and subsequently enable you to work as a site engineer.

Note in the UK site Engineers can earn up 350 pounds per day or even more especially if you own your own kit and depending on experience.

We have flexible study mode, as you may wish to attend this course any day and time of the week.

             for example we have evening classes starting from 7pm to 9pm on week days Mondays to Fridays. This is now via Zoom and Microsoft Team.

1. weekend classes 11 am to 2.00pm for field work

2: weekend from 3.00pm -5.00 pm taught class. This is now Via zoom

             All our Weekday classes starts as from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm with breaks in between. ( for those wanting straight programme) Please speak to us concerning this arrangement.
